Shotguns and cannabis plants seized and two arrested as police swoop on Coventry property

Coventry Editorial 21st Mar, 2022

TWO PEOPLE have been arrested and 15 cannabis plants and two shotguns were recovered from a property in Coventry.

Police swooped on the address in the Stoke area of the city after concerns had been raised about cannabis being grown at the property.

A man and woman in their 30s were arrested from the address on suspicion of drug cultivation and possession of firearms. They have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Sgt Tom Reid, from Coventry Police, said: “The information we receive from the public is vital in protecting our communities and in this case has resulted in dangerous weapons being recovered.

“The information received has potentially saved a number of lives and prevented drugs from making their way on the streets.”

He urged anyone suspecting drugs were being cultivated or dealt in their area to call Coventry Police on 101 or submit the information via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk
