SIKH Union Coventry saw 84 people take part in their 35th charity walk, raising £1788 for local, national and international good causes.

Lord Mayor Coun Kevin Maton cut the ribbon at the event, which saw them walk 15kilometres from Ramgarhia Gurdwara in Foleshill.

The journey saw them stop at Coventry Cathedral as well as gurdwaras, churches and mandirs before returning to Ramgarhia Gurdwara.

The cash raised will be going to Bowel Cancer UK, the Lord Mayors charities and local and international Sikh Union projects.

Bali Panesar of Sikh Union said: “We are truly thankful to everybody who took part in the charity walk and raised all these funds for very deserving charities.

“Bowel Cancer UK relies on public support for the work they do.

“Their vision is a future where nobody dies of Bowel cancer. Once again Sikh Union would like to thank everyone who took part and also for their continued support.”
