A COVENTRY company celebrated its international growth with a Christmas party- in the middle of the biggest summer heatwave in years.
British server appliance specialist ApplianSys held a postponed Christmas get-together at Stratford-Upon-Avon’s Arden Hotel.
The party saw Coventry staff joined by representatives from their satellite offices in Texas, Kuala Lumpur and Johannesburg, where they took a cruise on the River Avon before pulling their Christmas crackers and enjoying a three-course meal featuring a turkey roast and all the trimmings.
And the hotel put up a Christmas tree and decorations to put their guest in the festive spirit.
The firm began as a start-up in 2001 and now has customers in 165 countries.
They have been building IT server computers, helping schools across the globe improve their internet connectivity.
ApplianSys sales director Magdalena Jovanovic said they had missed several Christmas parties over recent times as it was the firm’s busiest time of year, but decided to have some fun and keep the festive theme for the delayed celebration despite the scorching heat.
“It was great to be able to celebrate our recent successes with a Christmas party in the summer – our hottest to date.
“It was quite cool to have everyone over at the same time.
“We were laughing with our colleagues from South Africa as it’s the middle of winter over there.”
