Coventry City players Brad Collins and Bobby Thomas visited supporter groups during the EFL Week of Action.

SBitC’s MENtalk project provides support for those facing mental health and well-being challenges.

Designed for 18 year olds and over – staff can offer advice, support and assistance regardless of the severity of their mental health issues.

Participants can take part in football, basketball, badminton, and table tennis while receiving targeted mental health support when needed.

Experienced mental health coordinators, along with an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) from VoiceAbility, provide guidance in these free weekly sessions.

MENtalk participants were invited to the Coventry Building Society Arena for Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month for a social event.

The event offered a opportunity to connect with attendees from across Coventry while participating in quizzes and prize draws and interacting with Winnie, SBitC’s resident therapy dog.

Alfie, who took part in the event said: “After meeting the Coventry City players at the CBS Arena, it was nice to see their interest in MENtalk and what we do, as well as getting insight into their lives beyond football.”

Ethan, who also attended added: “It was a great experience today meeting Bobby and Brad, from watching live to taking pictures with them was something special, I’d love to have more moments like this.”
