Sky Blues to support Friday's Coventry's 'drop the denim' campaign tomorrow

SKY Blues in the Community and Coventry City will be supporting Friday’s Coventry’s ‘Drop the Denim’ campaign at tomorrow’s game against Norwich City.

Drop the Denim is a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee project run by Fridays Coventry which aims to tackle the current cost of living crisis and help save the planet.

It takes 1800 gallons of water to make just one pair of jeans, meaning water usage can be hugely cut by recycling denim.

All denim collected is washed, ironed and handed out to families across Coventry who are currently struggling with the cost of living crisis.

A denim collection bin will be located outside the Coventry Building Society Arena main entrance pre-match tomorrow.

Set up in 2019 by Tyler Campbell, Fridays Coventry aims to help prevent knife crime and antisocial behaviour.

The project has seen youngsters able to take part in activities such as making electric battery Go karts and singing at Birmingham Symphony Hall, and they also hold a weekly food bank.

It was rewarded for its achievements by being crowned 2022s best UK youth-led anti-crime scheme.
