CHRISTMAS can be a difficult time for many, and now more than ever, the charitable organisations who run the ‘social supermarkets’ across the city need support in bulk purchasing food items and receiving donations as demand for their services continues to soar.

The Community Resilience Team helped launch “Send your Love this Christmas” – a Christmas campaign to support the social supermarkets.

As part of this Smart Learners have generously supported of the campaign.

Henley Green Grub Hub received a large food donation from items donated by employees and items purchased by individuals which will enable the hub to continue their vital work in supporting vulnerable families over the Christmas period.

Coun David Welsh, cabinet member for housing and communities, said: “We have a strong community ethos here in Coventry and it’s fantastic when a local business, like Smart Learner supports that.

“Their backing is hugely important to keep vital networks like the Coventry Food Network food hub going, particularly over the Christmas period.”

Tommy Sandu from SmartLearner commented: “As the leading driving school in the West Midlands and Warwickshire, we felt it was our duty to get involved and set an example to other driving schools and driving instructors in the local area.

“We are extremely excited to be getting involved in the project and feel this is a perfect way of making a positive impact on the community as well as supporting families who need it this Christmas”
