Solihull council open consultation survey about improvements to Frog Lane

Coventry Editorial 30th Oct, 2022   0

SOLIHULL Council have opened a consultation and engagement survey about proposed improvements to Council-owned land at Frog Lane, Balsall Common.

The proposals involve creating a new, wider footpath and nature trail, to improve the land’s public accessibility and biodiversity.

The new footpath will link up with existing footpaths at Oakes Farm, Balsall Street, and will be suitable for dog walkers, with fences separating the new route from surrounding farmland.

The new nature trail will involve the creation of natural ponds and the planting of trees and hedgerows to enhance the area’s biodiversity – in line with the Council’s Planting Our Future programme.

Coun Bob Sleigh OBE, cabinet member for resources said: “We are really excited about our plans for Frog Lane, Balsall Common, which will create a better environment for residents and visitors to enjoy and for local wildlife to flourish.”

“At Solihull Council, we put the interests of local people at the heart of all the decisions we make, so we want to hear your thoughts on these proposals.

“I encourage as many people as possible to take part in the public consultation, which is now live, to let us know your views on our planned improvements and any suggestions you might have to help improve them further.”

The public consultation closes on Sunday 6 November 2022, with work on site set to commence in Spring 2023.
