Spooktacular half-term coming to Coventry

Coventry Editorial 20th Oct, 2023   0

COVENTRY is gearing up for a spooktacular half-term with a range of Halloween-themed events on the cards.

St Mary’s Guildhall will be holding a series of Halloween events delving into the medieval venue’s history and its ghost stories.

Gertie the Guildhall Witch will be telling spooky tales to visitors, who will be invited to help find her missing cat by following a spooky trail around the building.

While treading the same ground as historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots, youngsters will also get the opportunity to learn about unpleasant punishments from centuries gone by.

Coventry Transport Museum will be inviting guests to upcycle waste and create their own junk-model monsters.

A less spooky experience will be on offer at The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum with a range of daily activities at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.

There will be a chilling ‘Gunpowder Gala’ at Coombe Abbey, which will see actors reveal the story of the Plot and its threat to Coombe Abbey, alongside a fireworks display and three-course meal for guests.

The Abbey is also hosting its Haunted Halloween Afternoon Tea from October 29 to 31.

And in preparation for Halloween, Coventrians will be able to visit The Barn at Berryfields to pick their own pumpkin.
