ST MARY’S Guildhall in Coventry has cemented its place as one of the country’s leading visitor tourist attractions.
The 700-year-old venue won Bronze in the International Tourism category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025.
The venue fought off strong competition from the country’s most prestigious attractions to reach the final, where it was joined by The Beatles Story in Liverpool and World of Wedgwood in Staffordshire.
Judges praised the Guildhall for its passion for accessibility and history, its tailored approach to welcoming visitors from around the world, and the outstanding customer service delivered by its staff and volunteers.
The award comes less than three years after the venue reopened under the management of No Ordinary Hospitality, following a renovation.
Abi Moore, Heritage and Venue Manager at St Mary’s Guildhall, said: “To be named among the top three attractions for International Tourism in England is a testament to the amazing work of our entire team – we are absolutely delighted to have achieved a Bronze award.
“Our staff and volunteers go above and beyond to create welcoming, high-quality and accessible experiences for every visitor, whether they’re from Coventry or visiting from the other side of the world.
“This award helps put both the Guildhall and Coventry firmly on the map as a must-visit destination.”
Coun Jim O’Boyle, Coventry City Council’s cabinet member for jobs, regeneration and climate change, said: “This top industry award is great news for our wonderful Guildhall. We have always known how fantastic and unique it is and now that has been recognised and celebrated on a global stage.
“This award will help spread the word spread nationally and internationally and in turn help to attract even more people to visit the Guildhall and city.”
