St. Mary's Guildhall launches community grants scheme

Coventry Editorial 6th Aug, 2023   0

HISTORIC St. Mary’s Guildhall is calling on organisations and community groups to apply to a new grants scheme to help more people engage with the venue and Coventry’s heritage.

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and delivered in partnership with Coventry City Council, the £30,000 scheme will enable local organisations to deliver projects.

The funds will allow Coventry communities to engage more deeply with St Mary’s Guildhall, and to encourage a long-lasting relationship with the city’s heritage.

The scheme – which will be managed by the operators of St. Mary’s Guildhall, No Ordinary Hospitality Management – will offer grant funding to deliver eligible projects, which could range from exhibitions and performances to workshops and displays inspired by or hosted at the Guildhall.

The deadline for the first round of applications will be 15 September.

Tier 1 Grants will be larger awards, between £2,000 and £8,000. This is for larger projects to which only constituted organisations may apply.

Tier 2 Grants are smaller awards, between £250 and £1,999, to which both constituted organisations, and non-constituted community groups may apply.

Applications for Tier 2 grants can be submitted year round from 20 July 2023 until March 2024, with award decisions made each quarter.

The deadline for the first round of applications is September 15.
