STEP into Christmas this week as Coventry Transport Museum brings back its magical vintage sleigh ride this Saturday, December 3.
The Sleigh Ride was homed at the Corporation Street Co-Op for almost 60 years, becoming a Christmas tradition.
When the Co-Op closed in 2015, a petition was launched to save it gaining thousands of signatures.
Culture Coventry reached an agreement to save it and it was moved to the Transport Museum.
Rob Hubbard, who is among the museum workshop staff maintaining the ride, said: “I’m 62 now and I remember riding the sleigh myself as a kid, it was something to look forward to at the Co-Op every year.
“Children absolutely love it and every year it creates miles of smiles. To know the work we do can create a bit of magic for the kids is so special. It’s a lot of work every year but I love it.”
