A SUSPECTED drink driver ploughed his car straight into the middle of an island on a Coventry road – plunging it headfirst into the bushes.
An image of the unfortunate island hopping vehicle has circulated on social media and now a man has been charged with drink driving.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “A man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after his car ended up in bushes on Walsgrave Road, Coventry, just before 9pm yesterday (Sunday, June 16) has been charged.
“Abdul Rahman, a sales assistant aged 39 of Stewart Street, Nuneaton, was charged with driving over the legal alcohol limit and has been bailed before his court appearance at Coventry Magistrates Court on Monday, July 1.”
