Suspected murder victim in Spon End attack named as Coventry dad Daniel Chappell, 26

THE FAMILY of a man who was found dead in Coventry has today released a photo and paid tribute to a ‘loving father, son, brother and partner’.

A murder investigation was launched on Sunday (March 10)  after Daniel Chappell, 26, was found dead at a property in Vincent Street, Spon End, at around 1.40am.

A 29-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The family of Mr Chappell has released this statement: “Daniel was a loving father, son, brother and partner. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.”




Detective inspector Nick Barnes, from the force’s homicide team, said: “Our investigation continues at pace as we try to establish exactly what happened to Mr Chappell.

“Our thoughts remain with his family and friends who are being supported by specially trained officers at this extremely difficult time.


“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information which can assist our investigation to get in touch.”
