A TEENAGER has been arrested after a shotgun was allegedly fired in a drive-by shooting in Coventry.

It is suspected to have taken place in Robert Mounford Way in Tile Hill yesterday (May 20) at 4pm.

Today, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life and is currently in police custody for questioning.”

A statement yesterday read: “Police received a 999 call from a member of the public at 4pm reporting a firearms discharge at a property in Robert Mounford Way, Coventry.

“It’s understood offenders pulled up outside the address in a vehicle before a shotgun was fired towards the door; no-one was injured and the offenders left in the vehicle.

“Enquiries are on-going. Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at WMP Online or by calling 101. Alternatively people can call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”

This was the second shot fired in Coventry in 48 hours with another drive-by incident taking place on Meadfoot Road, Willenhall, Coventry, on Saturday (May 18).
