A TEENAGER has been arrested after another teenager was stabbed in Coventry on bank holiday Monday.
A 17-year-old boy was attacked in Middle Ride, Willenhall shortly before 8pm.
Last night (Tuesday) another 17-year-old boy handed himself into Coventry Police Station and he was arrested on suspicion of assault.
He remains in police custody today as officers continue to investigate the incident.
Coventry Police are still working to trace a silver Golf which they believe was driven away from the scene.
Due to concerns over further violence, Section 60 powers were introduced on Monday night, through to the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The powers enable officers to be able to stop and search people they suspect may be involved in violence involving weapons, without the need to have reasonable grounds.
Police say they found no-one else with weapons but would continue to carry out regular patrols in the area over the coming days.
A spokesperson said: “We don’t use S60 powers lightly but will continue to monitor and assess the situation.
“Our priority is to protect the public.”
Anyone with information on the attack should contact officers via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
