A TEENAGER arrested on suspicion of murder following the stabbing of Jaydon Washington James in Coventry has been bailed.
As we reported, the 16-year-old was arrested yesterday (November 29) at an address in Oxford and was taken to a police station in the West Midlands for questioning.
Today he has been released on bail until December 28, pending further enquiries.
Jaydon, 16, was with friends when he was attacked in Deedmore Road, Wood End, on Saturday (November 24).
He died in hospital soon after being admitted.
His two friends, who were also seriously injured, have since been released from hospital.
Ch supt Mike O’Hara, from Coventry Police, said: “This is a significant step forward but our enquiries are continuing.
“A teenage boy has lost his life and I would urge anyone with information which can assist our investigation to come forward as soon as possible.”
Tributes have flooded in from family and friends after the latest death on city streets – amid rising knife crime.
The city was invited to a candlelit vigil last night in memory of Jaydon.
A service was delivered to celebrate Jaydon’s life and to show support for his family and the community.
