Teenager charged with murder of Robert Burgess in Coventry garden

A TEENAGER has been charged with the murder of Robert Burgess in a Coventry garden.

Robert, aged 37, was found with stab injuries to his chest after police were called to Armfield Street, Bell Green at around 9.15pm last Thursday (October 3).

Nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 17-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons due to his age, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court today (October 9).




A second boy arrested on suspicion of murder, also aged 17, has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

A 19-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, who were previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released while enquiries continue.


A 41-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail.
