THREE teenagers have been charged over a fire at a children’s play area.
Police investigating the blaze at Allesley Park – which caused thousands of pounds worth of damage – charged two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old on Saturday when they answered bail.
The March fire saw two wheelie bins and play equipment damaged.
Ward councillor Bally Singh said: “For over a year, local families and children have not been able to use the facilities damaged as a result of the mindless attack.
“However, I’m also pleased to report that the tower-slide is on track to be fully replaced in mid July, with a slide that has a more arson proof metal base.
“This replacement will happen just before the summer holidays, around the same time as those arrested are due to appear in court.”
