Tenacious team from Coventry's UK Battery Industrialisation Centre to take on Mount Snowdon this weekend for Air Ambulance

A TENACIOUS team from Coventry’s UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) will tackle Mount Snowdon on Saturday, May 28, to raise funds for the Warwickshire and Northhamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA), writes Lucy Kesseler.

The climbers will take the Llanberis Path to the top with the goal of raising £1,700.

WNAA is part of The Air Ambulance Service which enables people to get accessible treatment all across the UK when they most need it.

The service is reliant on donations to provide its care and is in desperate need of support to continue its life-saving operations.

Thoe walkers chose WNAA as it is local to Warwickshire and the easily identifiable helicopters are visible from the UKBIC base in Baginton too.

Ian Vickers, who heads up UKBIC’s voluntary Energy Action fund-raising group, said: “The team are eager to get the walk-up Snowdon under way.

“WNAA is such a fantastic cause and keen to partner us in any way they can.”

WNAA Community Fundraising Executive, George May, added: “I’d like to say good luck, and a huge thank you to the team at UKBIC for challenging themselves to raise funds for our service.”

Without the generosity of donors, the air service would have not be able to carry out its rescues.
