A PARLIAMENT week event took place at Finham Park in Coventry last weekend with over 100 students and parents in attendance.
The United Kingdom Telugu Hindhu Organisation organisation (UTHO) celebrated UK Parliament Week with the aim to encourage the local community, especially the younger generation.
The event, which was joined by Lord Mayoress of Coventry, three former Mayor’s and local councillors, also aimed to raise awareness of the significance of democracy and parliamentary processes.
UTHO hosted events through the week across six locations including, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Rugby, Sutton, Preston and Coventry.
Students had the choice to discuss between different topics, such as does Coventry need a grammar school or not.
Coventry Mayor Mrs. Mutton and Margaret Mayoress, councillor Jaswant Singh Birdi, Ram Parkash Lakha OBE, Barbara Mosterman, Hema Yellapragada all attended the event on Sunday December 8.
A team UTHO core member said: “On behalf of UTHO organisation I would like to say thank you to those who attended UK parliament week, your attendance made the occasion truly special, and we are honoured to have had you all join us.
“You all gave honest answers to every question asked by students and parents and satisfied everyone.
“Your support and enthusiasm added to the event’s success, and we deeply appreciate your contribution.”
