Thief who preyed on 85-year-old in Coventry retirement village jailed

A COVENTRY woman has been jailed after stealing money from an elderly woman in a retirement village.

Terri-Anne Hancox knocked on the door of her 85-year-old victim at Earlsdon Park Village on February 20 this year.

Hancox claimed her family members had recently passed away, and that she was really upset about it.

The caring lady invited her in and when she went to the kitchen to make a drink, Hancox saw her opportunity, swiping a small bag containing £17 – money her victim needed to pay her cleaner.




Hancox was arrested within two days after officers identified her from CCTV and she was later charged.

The 37-year-old of Hewitt Avenue, Coventry was jailed for three years and two months at Leamington Crown Court on Tuesday (June 9
