THREE people have been taken into custody as part of a police investigation into the discovery of a man’s body in Coventry.

Those arrested include a man and woman in their 40s and a man in his 20s.

All three were arrested overnight in Blackpool on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender.

The body of a man, who has not yet been identified but who is believed to be aged 40 to 50, was found by a member of the public in a wheelie bin in Cash’s Park off Daimler Road at around 5pm on Friday (March 13).

Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the man and establish how he died.

The officer leading the investigation, Det Ch Insp Phil Poole from West Midlands Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “After beginning our investigation this weekend, we have made a number of arrests overnight.

“All of these people remain in custody at this time while we continue to build a picture of what might have happened.

“Thank you to everyone who has been in touch providing information so far.

“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who might know more about what happened and whether they can help our investigation.”

Anyone with information, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, is asked to get in touch via 101, quoting log 4148 of March 13.

Police have also set up a dedicated page at https://mipp.police.uk/operation/20HQ25B34-PO1 where members of the public can send CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage from the area, or any other information, directly to detectives.
