THREE people escaped with their lives after the vehicles they were in were involved in a head on crash near Coventry.
A red car and a blue van collided on the B4029 at Coombe Fields about 12.35pm on Saturday (December 19).
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said when crews arrived, they found one vehicle on either side of the road, both with extensive front end damage.
In the van there was a man and woman in their 50s. The man was discharged on the scene after treatment for minor injuries but the woman was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with a hand injury.
The 19-year-old man driving the car escaped with a facial and knee injury – he was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.
The spokesman said: “The levels of injury were not as serious as you might have expected.
“All three were very fortunate not to be more seriously injured.”
Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and a paramedic area support officer attended the scene.
