‘Face of space’ is heading to Coventry next month to help bring science and technology to life for businesses in the region.

Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE, renowned scientist and BBC’s The Sky at Night presenter, prepares to headline the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s BIG Business Lunch on March 21.

Scheduled from 11 am to 3 pm at the IXL Events Centre in Southam, the event has already garnered significant attention, with over 200 registrations.

Maggie who said her fascination with space was ignited by Neil Armstrong’s historic moon landing, is dedicated to fostering interest in STEM careers, particularly among women and girls.

Her keynote address promises to enlighten attendees about her journey, inspirations, and the challenges facing STEM inclusivity.

Corin Crane, Chief Executive of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, expressed enthusiasm about Maggie’s participation, emphasising the region’s status as a hub of innovation and technology.

He added: “It’s a real cause for celebration for the region and I can’t wait to hear Maggie speak about her experiences, what inspired her, what barriers she still sees to getting more people into STEM – especially women and girls – and how we go about addressing that.”
