WARWICK UNIVERSITY is celebrating after being ranked among the top 100 universities in the world in a third league table.
The Coventry-based university has been ranked 92nd in the world by the Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
This latest ranking – a jump of 96 places on last years’ ranking – follows on from the university’s success in the QS annual World University Rankings, the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings and its naming as ‘University of Year’ by the UK’s The Times and Sunday Times newspapers.
The Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking focuses particularly on sciences – with the University of Warwick beating competition from other more science dominated institutions across the world.
The University of Warwick’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Nigel Thrift welcomed the news.
He said: “This has been a year filled with stunning international ranking results for the University of Warwick and it is particularly fitting that this come in the year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our University.”
