Coombe Abbey 'thrilled' to welcome back guests for afternoon teas on outdoor terrace from April 14

COOMBE Abbey Hotel is next month preparing to reopen its outdoor terrace for alfresco afternoon teas, ahead of welcoming guests back from May 17.

The team at the four-star hotel set in 500 acres of parkland in Binley on the Coventry and Warwickshire border, are thrilled an official opening date has now been set, subject to government review.

Operations Director Ron Terry said: “It has been so long since we have been able to welcome guests into Coombe Abbey because of the Tier system and lockdowns, so to see a clear end in sight is very exciting.

“Now we have plenty of time to plan, get everything ready and make this a real celebration to returning some sort of normality.

“The health of our guests and staff is of course paramount, so we will continue to monitor Government guidelines during the coming months and have every recommended safety procedure in place for when we make our comeback.

“After what the past year has brought us, we cannot wait to see everyone again, host events and get back to what we do best. We hope you can join us.”

The West Terrace and outside bar will open first for afternoon teas from Wednesday April 14, and booking for tables is now open.

When the venue fully reopens on May 17 it will follow a six-month Covid shutdown.

Until then Coombe Abbey Park remains open for local residents who are exercising and Café in the Park has a takeaway service.

The hotel is also hosting live stream events and takeaway afternoon teas.

For any bedroom, weddings, meetings and events bookings up until May 17, staff will be getting in touch to discuss reservations, cancellations or rebooking.

Ron added: “Staff are working hard to contact anyone who may have a booking with us before May 17 to discuss their options.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we appreciate your patience. We hope this is the last time we will be doing this and we can look forward to brighter days.”
