TRAVEL ALERT - Traffic chaos on M6 near Coventry and Nuneaton caused by flash flooding

UPDATE – One lane still remains closed on the M6 between (Coventry and Nuneaton) and the M42 for ‘sweeping’.

Traffic was stopped earlier this evening due to flooding on the northbound carriageway between Junction 3 and 3A of the M6 and the M42 and M6 Toll.

Two lanes of the M6 remain closed because of standing water. s

The vehicles were released but two lanes of the four remained closed due to standing water.

Traffic has also built up on the A444 Bedworth Bypass (Nuneaton / Coventry) to J4 M42 J7 (Coleshill).

Now, one lane is still shut but traffic is flowing well through the other three.

Earlier this evening, more than 1,200 properties in Coventry and Ryton-on-Dunsmore were affected by power cuts.
