Travellers served 24-hour eviction notice in Coventry

AN UNAUTHORISED traveller encampment set up in Coventry has been served a 24-hour eviction notice by the council.

About 17 caravans – a group of 60 people – arrived at a council-owned site at the junction of Lynchgate Road and Sir Henry Parkes Road in Canley yesterday (August 27).

A Coventry City Council spokesperson said: “Just to confirm the order to vacate was served on all caravans at the site by the process server just before 12 o’clock today.

“Therefore they must vacate by 12 noon tomorrow.

“Officers were attending yesterday to complete needs assessments.”
