Tribute to 'cherished son and brother' who died in serious Coventry collision

Coventry Editorial 23rd Mar, 2023   0

THE FAMILY of John Thuo who died in a serious collision in Coventry earlier this month have paid tribute to him as investigators appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The 37-year-old died shortly after he was struck by a car in The Chesils at around 5am on Saturday, March 4, and the driver, aged 19, has been helping officers with their enquiries.

John’s family have described him as a ‘much-loved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend’ who was full of life, lived for the moment, and had dreams of a family of his own.

“He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends, always keeping in touch with them wherever they were all over the world.

“He was a kind, generous and gentle giant who lit up any room he entered with his infectious smile.

“He loved walking to keep fit and it is unfortunate that he tragically lost his life enjoying this very hobby. We will forever cherish his memory.”

Police are keen to speak to anyone with information or who has dashcam footage from around the time of the collision.

Det Sgt Julie Lyman, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said their thoughts were with John’s family at this awful time and they remained committed to establishing what happened.
