A MAN has died after a crash outside a busy city pub.

Floral tributes and pictures have been placed at the roadside near the Phantom Coach in Fletchamstead Highway.

One tribute read: “Never forgotten. Always in our hearts.”

The 48-year-old, who had not been named as we went to press yesterday (Wednesday), was confirmed dead at the scene by ambulance crews after the crash in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He was hit by an Audi just after 1am. The driver was checked over at the scene for shock but did not need hospital treatment.

Sergeant Paul Hughes said: “The crash happened opposite a busy pub and there may have been a number of people outside on such a warm night. I would ask anyone who saw what happened to contact me or my team.”
