COOMBE ABBEY hotel has been named among the world’s top tenth of hotels for the first time.
The historic hotel has been presented with the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2020 – making it one of the few out of more than 8.7 million businesses on TripAdvisor to receive the recognition.
The award is based on a year of TripAdvisor guest reviews prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, where the winners are calculated based on the quality and quantity of the millions of reviews, opinions and ratings collected on TripAdvisor in 2019.
Not only did scores of guests proactively take to TripAdvisor to rate their stay at Coombe Abbey as either ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’ in 2019, while the hotel’s overall TripAdvisor rating sits at four-and-a-half stars out of five from more than 4,000 reviews, the venue had to consistently get four out of five during a 12 month period to qualify.
Reviews centred around the relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and fine dining, including the popular afternoon tea service, as well as the unique decor of each bedroom and passage way and the picturesque views of surrounding countryside.
Coombe Abbey is no stranger to gaining top recognition, this year it has scooped Silver for Best UK Unusual Venue at the M&IT Awards and Bronze for Best UK Hotel and being named the Large Hotel of the Year at the West Midlands Tourism Awards.
