TWO men in their twenties were arrested in Coventry last night (Monday, November 18) following an alleged 35-mile police chase that began in Wolverhampton after a patrol car was rammed.
Officers patrolling in Upper Villiers, Wolverhampton, attempted to pull over a BMW 118D M Sport at 9.20pm which police say was then deliberately driven into their vehicle.
The police car was damaged during the alleged collision but no officers were injured.
The driver of the car made off but the vehicle was picked up by police helicopter heading into Coventry around 20 minutes later.
The car was eventually abandoned in Eld Road, Foleshill, Coventry and two men allegedly ran into Culworth Court and hid.
Two men, aged 29 and 23, both from Coventry − were arrested on suspicion of car theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
Both men remain in police custody this morning for questioning.
