TWO Coventry venues have been featured in a new guidebook celebrating some of the most accessible days out in Britain.
Coventry Transport Museum and Herbert Art Gallery feature in the latest ‘Rough Guide to Accessible Britain’ – a planning tool to help people enjoy an inclusive day out.
The ninth edition of the guidebook – available to download for free – features over 200 reviews of attractions across the UK which have gone above and beyond to make themselves accessible.
Coventry Transport Museum is praised for its great access throughout the galleries, lift access to all the floors and wide walkways.
The Herbert’s multi-sensory exhibits were highlighted by the guidebook, as was its ‘modern, light and outstandingly accessible’ space.
The guides new edition is supported by NHS GP, presenter and author Dr Radha Modgil and has been created in partnership with Motability Operations Ltd.
Dr Modgil said: “The detailed reviews in the Guide are designed to empower anyone with physical, mental health or cognitive condition to enjoy an accessible day out.”
