TWO MEN have been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to murder a 28-year-old Coventry man.

Daniel Shaw was found with gunshot injuries to his chest at around 11:15pm on Sunday (25 March) in Copland Place in the Tile Hill area of the city.

He died at the scene. A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

Police immediately launched a murder investigation and during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 27 March) arrested two men aged 22 and 47.

Detective chief inspector Chris Mallett, from the force’s Homicide Team, is continuing to appeal for information from the public.

He said: “We have made significant progress with our investigation; although we’ve made these arrests, we still need people to come forward.

“I’d urge anyone who was in Torrington Avenue or Copland Place at around 11pm on Sunday evening who hasn’t already spoken to us, or anyone who’s heard or seen something suspicious that could be connected, to get in touch.

“Daniel’s family are devastated and we are keeping them fully updated with the latest developments.”

Anyone with information should contact West Midlands Police’s Homicide Team on 101 quoting log number 2710 from 25/3.
