A COVENTRY City fan and singer-songwriter has penned his latest parody piece about the Sky Blues’ first league win of the season against Middlesbrough at the CBS Arena.

Coventry won 1-0, thanks to Viktor Gyokeres’ 17th minute goal and put on an impressive display, notching up 11 shots during the 90 minutes.

Gary Withers, who writes parody songs to the tunes of famous pop classics, put together the ‘Coventry City v Middlesbrough review’ to the tune of the Waterboys’ Whole of the Moon, keeping the rhyme to declare Viktor ‘spoilt the Boro fans’ whole afternoon’.

The lyrics also reference the fans’ frustration surrounding the pitch problems at the CBS Arena and how they have now been sorted.

Because of those issues, Coventry City have only played eight games.

Although they are still bottom of the table, the Sky Blues have three games in hand over other teams, including West Bromwich Albion in 19th – the first place outside the relegation zone – and are just three points off the Baggies.
