Warning ahead of A45 road works for Coventry motorists

Coventry Editorial 28th Aug, 2020   0

MOTORISTS using the A45 are being warned about its closure in November.

Road engineers will be working on the flyover above the Styvechale interchange from September to November.

Highways England says its maintenance works include replacing the parapet – the protective steel wall that runs alongside the flyover.

The agency said: “We will also be replacing the joints located within the bridge deck. The completed work will ensure the integrity of the structure is maintained, and the steel wall at the side of the flyover remains fit for purpose.”

The programme of works is set to run from Saturday 5 September to Monday 30 November 2020. Work will be taking place Monday to Friday between the hours of 8pm to 5am.

In an effort to reduce disruption to road users there will be a combination of lane closures and full carriageway closures on both the A45 and A46, with a lane one closure in effect on the latter. Accompanying these closures will be a fully signed diversion route for drivers to follow.
