Watch police Drones Team live streaming in sky above Coventry this Wednesday

POLICE will be taking to the skies live on Facebook and Instagram to talk about the work of the Drones Team in preparation for Coventry City of Culture this Wednesday (April 28).

Officers will also be informing drone owners in the city how to fly safely, legally and responsibly.

And you can tune in to watch to find out more about what on West Midlands Police Facebook page where the live broadcasts will begin from around 7pm.

They will also be live streaming from our Instagram page @westmidlandspolice.

Kerry Blakeman, West Midlands Police lead for operational planning at Coventry City of Culture, said: “Coventry will be awash with colour and events during the title year.

“As a drone owner myself I enjoy flying my drone but with recent changes in the law it’s quite difficult to understand what is actually permitted.

“As a result we will be live on Facebook with our force drone lead Sergeant Keith Bennett, to talk about how the Drones Team are helping to keep us safe from the skies, tracking offenders and searching for missing people.

“Sergeant Bennett will also be answering your questions about drone ownership, the drone code, registration and how to fly safely and responsibly. We’re also planning a live stream from one of our drones to give you a bird’s eye view across the city.”
