West midlands Police thanked volunteers

WEST MIDLANDS Police have thanked the volunteers who made their communities safer during volunteers week.

The force have 670 volunteers including special constables who hold the same powers as regular officers and were the same uniform.

West Midlands said they are grateful for the Cadet Leaders who mentor and support young police cadets as well as puppy fosters.

West Midlands Police Museum is run by volunteers who share their love of history with visitors.

Rowena, who works at the museum said: “I love the history, I enjoy meeting people and telling them the history of West Midlands Police force.”

The StreetWatch scheme has over 1,000 members patrolling neighbourhoods.




Sam Booth, head of citizens in policing, said: “Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do and I personally want to say a huge thank you to all the amazing individuals who dedicate their time and talents to making our communities safer.

“Their contributions and passion inspire us all.


“If you’ve never considered volunteering, there’s no better time to start. Every hour you give strengthens our communities. There are many rewarding roles on offer, and we look forward to welcoming new members to our policing family.”
