VISITORS to West Orchards shopping centre’s free Santa’s Grotto have helped raise a bumper sum of money for Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice.
Shoppers dug deep, raising £1,895 for the charity.
Jane McGaffney, Community Fundraiser at Zoë’s Place, said: “I was delighted to be contacted by West Orchards and was bowled over with the amount raised. This is going to make such a difference to us.
“It costs just £25 per hour for one child to be cared for at the hospice. This amount has given us 76 hours of care. It’s just amazing and we would like to thank all those who gave so generously.”
Andy Talbot, centre manager at West Orchards, said: “The hospice team do an absolutely amazing job in some incredibly difficult circumstances, the care they give to the babies and the unwavering support they offer to families is something truly special.
“Thank you to everyone who donated and visited the grotto throughout the Christmas period, you have all come together to raise a magnificent amount for a wonderful charity.”
