What were the weird and wonderful items left by Coventry Travelodge guests in the last year

TRAVELODGE has revealed some of the weird and wonderful items that have been left in its Hotels in Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth over the past 12 months.

One forgetful guest staying at the Coventry Binley Travelodge managed to misplace a commercial lease for a barbers shop, while another left their six-foot sequin butterfly.

Disney lovers will be horrified to learn that another guest at the Binley Travelodge left behind a life-sized Pinocchio puppet and Gepetto statue, and another guest didn’t remember to re-pack an 18ct gold Hand of Fatma necklace.

Travelodges 2022 lost and found inventory report revealed a large amount of royal and patriotic memorabilia being left behind at hotels across the country, and the Coventry venue was no different with a box of 100 Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Union Jack flags finding its way to the lost and found pile.

And a guest forgot to take an interior designer’s sketchbook home with them.

Over at the Nuneaton Bedworth Travelodge, lost items included a Fortnum and Mason Christmas hamper, a toupee, a 50-year-old handwritten curry recipe, and a harlequin costume.

Travelodge Spokeswoman Shakila Ahmed said: “With nearly 19 million customers annually staying at our 580 UK Travelodge hotels, including our hotels in Coventry, for thousands of different reasons, we do get a range of interesting items left behind.

“Interestingly the 2022 lost and found audit also revealed that we are a nation striving for a healthy lifestyle as we have seen a significant rise in smart watches being left behind in our Travelodge hotels during the last 12 months.”

All items left behind in Travelodge hotels which have not been claimed within three months, are donated to the local British Heart Foundation Charity Shops.
