A WOMAN will appear in court today (Thursday), charged with murder after a man died in Coventry.
Laura Shanley, 35, was arrested in Edmund Road and has been charged with the murder of Alfred James Corbett.
Alfred, also known as ‘Jamie’ to friends and family was found seriously injured just after 4am on Tuesday.
‘Loyal, compassionate and loving person’
In a tribute, Mr Corbett’s family said: “Jamie, a wonderful and caring soul, was 34-years-old and lived and worked in Coventry.
“He was a loyal, compassionate, loving person whose life was taken too soon.
“His loss is felt so deeply by all who knew him.
“His family are left devastated by his tragic passing and know life will never be the same again.”
The family have request privacy at this difficult time as they try to come to terms with what has happened.
Shanley will appear at Coventry Magistrates Court today.
