A WOMAN remains in critical condition after being hit by a car in a hit and run incident in Keresley End on Sunday morning.

The woman, in her 50s, suffered multiple injuries and was in cardiac arrest before being treated by ambulance crews and two doctors.

She was resuscitated and rushed to University Hospital on a neck and spinal board and remains in critical condition.

A man in his 50s who was riding the bike was also rushed to hospital after suffering an injury to his wrist.

Three people form Coventry were arrested following the incident, two men aged 27 and 29 and a 27-year-old woman. All three have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealling for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 11.40.

“We have already spoken to a number of people who witnessed what happened but we know the road would have been busy at the time and there are witnesses we have yet to hear from.” said Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Collision Investigation Unit.

“In particular I’m looking for anyone who may have seen a blue Volkswagen Golf GTI with the registration number HJ55 LGV in the area at the time.

“We are currently following up a number of enquiries and it is important to the investigation that we piece together the events before and after the collision.”

Anyone with information should contact Sergeant Paul Hughes on 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
