Woman left seriously injured after car crashes into tree in Coventry

A WOMAN has been seriously injured after crashing her car into a tree in Coventry and being left in a ditch.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a serious collision in Black Prince Avenue at the junction of Leaf Lane, Cheylesmore, in Coventry.

“A car which had failed to stop for police was involved in a collision with a tree at around 11.55am this morning (June 20).

“The woman, believed to be the sole occupant of the car has been seriously injured. She’s currently in hospital receiving treatment for her injuries.

“The incident has been referred to the force’s Professional Standards Department as is the normal procedure.

“Anyone who witnessed what happened is asked to call 101 and ask for Force Traffic Department quoting log 1001 20/6.”
