A WOMAN has been left with severe injuries after being beaten with a baseball bat in an attempted car-jacking.
The 36-year-old was repeatedly hit in the head and body with a baseball bat after refusing to hand over the keys to her blue Audi S3 in Lyons Drive, Allesley just before 5.30pm on Saturday, March 28.
Her male attacker then proceeded to run off, leaving her on the floor.
Police in Coventry have since launched an investigation into the attack.
Investigating officer, DC Peter Waterman, said: “The woman was taken to hospital with severe bruising and bleeding, but fortunately nothing was broken.
“This was a brutal attack and could have been far worse, so I am appealing to anyone who can help us catch the man responsible to come forward.”
Anyone who witnessed the attack should call DC Waterman on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
