Woman suffers serious injuries after being hit by car in Coventry

A woman has been left with serious injuries after she was hit by a car in Coventry this morning.

Binley Road was closed after a car collided with the woman at the junction of Far Gosford Street.

Ambulance crews rushed the injured woman to Walsgrave for immediate trauma care.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service said the emergency services were called to Binley Road at 8.07am, sending one ambulance, a paramedic officer and the air ambulance to the scene.




A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered one patient, a woman, who was the pedestrian.

“She received treatment at the scene for multiple serious injuries before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire by ambulance.


“The doctor from the air ambulance travelled in the back of the ambulance to help continue treatment enroute to hospital.”

Police said there were no fatalities, a spokesperson said: “Police were called to a collision involving a car and pedestrian on Sky Blue Way, Coventry, just before 8.10am today (18 October).

“A woman has been taken to hospital with multiple injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Road closures are currently in place on Sky Blue Way, Binley Road and Walsgrave Road as enquiries take place.
