STUDENTS from a Worcester primary school visited Britannia Gardens and were able to see the diggers in action.
Pupils from Hindlip C of E First School were invited by Lockley Homes and were given high-visibility jackets and hard hats for their trip to the development.
The children, joined by teachers and headteacher Mr Gromski, watched the construction team drive and operate two diggers pave and landscape new homes.
Lockley Homes team accompanied the students back to the school where they were presented with a certificate and some digger pictures for colouring in.
Lockley also presented the class teacher Mrs Mirza with a £200 voucher for Hobbycraft, for further art supplies for the school.
Executive headteacher Mr Gromski said: “Red Class have been learning about how houses are built, and since Lockley started construction next door, we knew a trip to see the diggers had to be on the cards.
“The children had a wonderful time and were thrilled with their new high-vis jackets; we look forward to another visit soon and seeing how development is progressing.”
Karl Lockley, director and founder of Lockley Homes, said: “We’re very proud of our strong community links in the neighbourhoods in which we build homes.
“We have been getting to know the teachers, parents and children from Hindlip C of E First School since construction on our site next door, and earlier this year we provided a new, higher fence around their playground to replace the older one.
“It was a real joy to welcome Red Class to Britannia Gardens this week and I was particularly impressed by some of the clever questions asked by the children.”
