WORK is under way on a £1.5million refurbishment at Finham Park 2 secondary school which will see specialist new classrooms created in time for the beginning of the next academic year in September.
Three areas of the school site will be completely renovated, including a new multi-use game area being created.
Work in the existing Edwards Keep block will see the space transformed with two new design and technology classrooms.
There will also be new a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics classroom and a new space for teachers to prepare learning materials.
The new classrooms will feature the latest technology including laser cutters and 3D printers.
The food technology classroom will also be kitted out with modern equipment used in professional kitchens.
Finham Park 2 will be able to house an extra 60 students as a result of the work.
