BOOKWORMS at a Coventry primary school are getting in touch with their emotions thanks to a donation of reading material for World Book Day.
Pupils at Whoberley Hall Primary School received a donation of mental health and wellbeing themed books from local housebuilder Orbit Homes.
Staff from Orbit Homes, the housebuilding arm of Coventry-headquartered not-for-profit housing group Orbit, visited Whoberley Hall with books which aim to support KS1 and KS2 pupils with their understanding of feelings and growing up, as well as activity books to help them stay calm and relaxed.
Year 3 teacher Sally Mills said: “These books will help give the children confidence in expressing their emotions and feelings, and will support them in developing good habits for managing their mental health and wellbeing.”
Emily Kemp, Marketing Manager for Orbit Homes in the Midlands, said: “Reading is a crucial part of young people’s education and development, and we’re very proud to donate books that can support the children with their reading and also encourage them to learn about helpful techniques for taking care of their mental health and wellbeing.”
