A NEW SUSTAINABILITY project has inspired young artists from local schools in Coventry.
The programme – ‘Lets Create and Reuse’ has blended creativity and sustainability by engaging school children in a hands-on way.
Funded by Arts Council England and supported by the Broadweavers and Cloisters of Coventry, it teaches students the importance of upcycling and environmental consciousness.
Started by Libby Esler from ArtLab, the scheme merges upcycled materials into art.
Collaboration with Coventry University and Myton Hospice has provided spaces to show the students art – the creations will be shown in Myton’s charity shops.
As well as two exhibitions at the University.
The first will be held at the Delia Derbyshire Building November 16 – 23, with a special opening event featuring Mark Francis from the Great British Sewing Bee.
The second exhibition will take place at LTB Showrooms from November 25 through January 10, with a preview event on December 7.
