TRITON showers held a ‘Canal clean-up’ event in Coventry where they were joined by students and staff at Oak Wood School.

Ten Triton volunteers spent a day with the school helpers cleaning up a 1kilometre stretch of water running alongside its headquarters.

The firm also installed four bird boxes beside walkways to encourage wildlife.

Triton will be carrying out six canal clean up events a year.

Tasks involved picking up litter from the canal and surrounding area, painting over graffiti and repairing fences.

Oak Wood School’s students and teachers were then given a tour of Triton’s factories and discussed helping the environment.

Tina Simpson, Marketing Director at Triton Showers, said: “Working with students and teachers from Oak Wood School has brought the community together and given us the chance to share our sustainability message beyond our own team.”

Gail Thompson, Job Coach at Oak Wood School, added: “We are extremely grateful our students were able to get involved with Triton’s latest clean-up.

“Allowing them to take part really shows how they can help make a difference.”
